Nourishing the Creative Life

We all know how it feels when our creativity feels like stagnant waters. On the heels of the luminous Letter West conference, my book club read a chapter from Women Who Run With The Wolves (favorite book, ever) about Nourishing the Creative Life. In it, CPE says this:

“Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. That is why beholding someone else’s creative word, image, idea, fills us up, inspires us to do our own creative work. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent.”

We feasted on this creative energy at Letterwest and I came home full and happy with renewed energy for my craft, and beautiful bright ideas. Ideas can be tenuous as smoke but seem to take form when you can be courageous and take action. Thank you @letter_west@beccaclason and every person I crossed paths with last week for being a catalyst for creativity.

I have a fun new tactile lettering series I’m working on that I’ll start to roll out this weekend!
