Lark Lettering is a Design House in Albuquerque, New Mexico (formerly Seattle, Washington — though we do make it back to the PNW occasionally) specializing in lettering art and curating memorable experiences.
In addition to teaching lettering workshops and doing wedding calligraphy, we love beautifying spaces and having electric encounters through live lettering at events, and decorating walls and windows.
Our clients include Neiman Marcus, Microsoft, Google, La Croix, and a myriad of local small businesses. Our lettering and designs have been featured on Good Morning America, zulily, The Perfect Palette, and Borrowed and Blue.
We founded the Seattle Calligraphy Meetup in January 2016 and feel most alive when we gather with other creatives. It’s our way of helping to keep cursive alive and well!
meet Sarah Ward, the woman behind Lark
Born into a family of artists, Sarah was exposed to a variety of mediums and took her first calligraphy class in the sixth grade, then re-discovered the art form as an adult in 2012. An Editorial Stylist by trade, the thread of cohesive design weaves its way through each lettering project.
As a second generation art teacher with a decade of teaching under her belt, Sarah teaches established lettering techniques, providing personalized feedback to each student. Sarah’s teaching style is warm, demonstrative, and dynamic and she frequently receives rave reviews from her students.
Sarah puts pen to paper every day and considers writing her favorite form of therapy. When she isn’t lettering, you can find her planning her next award-winning Halloween costume, snuggling with her cats, or dancing flamenco.
This #homwork project will help you and Sarah get acquainted in no time.
