Lettering workshops will resume in Spring 2018

Hi guys, just a little update for our class calendar. With my upcoming travels out of country, calligraphy and lettering classes will resume in Spring 2018. Watch for upcoming dates!

If you have a request for what classes you would like to see on the roster, fill out the form below and include your request in the comments.

In the meantime, get your name on the list for our March Seattle Calligraphy Meetup on Thursday, March 15 at Sweetgrass Food Co!

National Handwriting Day, Then and Now #homwork

For National Handwriting Day, it seemed only appropriate to honor it by hand, not by a digital medium. Made that good ol’ fashioned way with a sketch pad and pencil, then tracing paper and Faber-Castell brush marker at Ada’s Technical Book Store at our little Hand Lettering session.

Here’s a version I lettered last year on National Handwriting Day. I am still really proud of all the embellishments that don’t come terribly naturally to me. So different!

January Seattle Calligraphy Meetup

Oh how good it feels to gather. A big thank you to the beautiful souls who answered the clarion call for community and came to letter alongside each other tonight! We even had a cameo from a couple good looking guys! And to the glorious Sweetgrass Food Co. for feeding and hosting us. We made letters without a goal or outcome, enjoyed the company of other creatives, and brainstormed creative ways to eat more vegetables. Cooking class, anyone??

Missed it? We will do one again soon. Sign up here to be added to the list, and watch our Instagram stories for announcements!

If you’re in the mood for more lettering, we have 3 great lettering classes happening in the coming weeks: Urban Lettering, Intro to Brush Lettering, and Intro to Hand Lettering and Design. All classes are beginner levels. Dates and details in the link, plus an 18% off sale through the weekend. Arbitrary? 18 for 2018!

Workshop with Lark Lettering. What better way to start off the new year than learning a skill and meeting new friends? We like to create an experience at our workshops and keep our classes intimate so you receive personalized feedback from your instructor. Upcoming workshops in January include Urban Lettering and Hand Lettering and Design.

For an extra special experience, find some butcher’s paper and paint or marker to create your own personalized gift wrapping. Your gifts will stand out under the tree!

Don’t forget to treat yourself this holiday season, so if you see something you like, why wait? Gift it to yourself! What’s on your wish list this year?
