Description
If you want to learn modern calligraphy, consider 1 on 1 lettering classes where you will receive personalized feedback. Individualized classes are great for both beginner students and intermediate students alike that would like to take their lettering to the next level.
Classes are available in person in Albuquerque, NM, or virtually anywhere in the world via Zoom.
You can choose from the following classes, or work with your instructor Sarah to cater the content:
- Brush Lettering. The Brush Lettering class utilizes the Tombow dual brush markers and will introduce you to the pressure/release technique with the lowercase alphabet. (This is our most popular class and a great place to start!)
- Pointed Pen Calligraphy. The Pointed Pen Calligraphy class utilizes nib, pen holder, and ink — the same tools used for millennia — in order to create a modern calligraphy. You’ll learn the appropriate angle to hold the pen, how much pressure is ideal, and with the pressure/release technique will learn a modern calligraphy alphabet.
- Watercolor Lettering. In this class you’ll learn lettering with the medium of watercolor paints and paintbrush and create beautiful ombre lettering art. We’ll learn the basics of watercolors, the pressure/release technique, and an upright script lettering font.
The class includes a lettering workbook, writing utensils, and a notebook, all you’ll need to delve into modern calligraphy. Contact us to schedule a class time.
