Tactile Lettering: K is for Kale
K is for kale! Straight from the Burien farmer’s market, after selecting it, my mom and I got to work on this rendition of eat the alphabet. Growing up my mom was a children’s art teacher so there was always something creative that we had on the go. It’s a delight to invite her along with my fun creative ventures now!

National Handwriting Day, Then and Now #homwork
For National Handwriting Day, it seemed only appropriate to honor it by hand, not by a digital medium. Made that good ol’ fashioned way with a sketch pad and pencil, then tracing paper and Faber-Castell brush marker at Ada’s Technical Book Store at our little Hand Lettering session.
Here’s a version I lettered last year on National Handwriting Day. I am still really proud of all the embellishments that don’t come terribly naturally to me. So different!
